On the penultimate day of Dubrovnik Carnival Fest, Saturday Feb 9th 2013, we have made special arrangements to cheer up the youngest ones amongst us. The programme begins at 10.00 am at Stradun with the introduction of 17 crews of the Carnival Regatta - coming from Dubrovnik, Split, Rijeka and Sarajevo. The Carnival Regatta, a unique event in this part of the Adriatic, organized by the Orsan Sailing association, is scheduled to start at 11 am at the aquatorium adjacent to City Walls.
Let us sail together on the "Seastar"
The Captains' Masquerade Ball, scheduled to take place on Feb 9th aboard the "Seastar", shall gather a variety of sailing enthusiasts and fans of "bal masqué". Dubrovnik Carnival Fest prepared a diverse programme intended for all of you to enjoy. Acrobatic group followed by the popular Trio Orsan shall open the programme. The "Guest of the evening" will be Marko Pecotić Peco with one of the biggest crotian hits of 2012 - "Samo ljubav ostaje" - a well-known theme song of a very popular TV-show.
The center event of Dubrovnik Carnival Fest - the Masked Music Fest at the Revelin Night Club - shall gather a variety of music enthusiasts and fans of masquerading. Some of the biggest names of croatian musical scene are to take part in this Fest, such as: Tereza Kesovija, Ivo Amulić, Ivo Šegedin as well as the well-known musical ensembles: Ragusa, Maestrali, Kaše, Ragusavecchia and many others. The Masked Music Fest, a unique blend of music and carnival festivities, shall introduce a number of yet unpublished songs by these popular performers.
For the third consecutive year Dubrovnik Carnival Fest features a special masqueraded evening and one of the most visited events in the series, a jolly and playful musical spectacle called "Masqueraded Operetta Mix". This event takes place in a unique surrounding of Marin Držić Theatre of Dubrovnik, with Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra under guidance of grand maestro Vladimir Kranjčević with guests: soprano Lidija Horvat-Dunjko, mezzosoprano Blanka Tkalčić-Breglec, tenor Goran Pekić and baritone Ronald Braus that shall present the most wonderful of arias from the world of operettas to both Dubrovnik and guests of Dubrovnik.
